Angelina on 02 Aug 2024 :
They don't provide basic grooming. They leave residents unattended to become agitated. Set them and forget them. Lock wheelchairs. Retaliate against Dementia patients. Punish them. Lots of neglect and abuse going on. Licensing is in there regularly. Fecal matter left on floor. Don't disinfect. Urine on the floor and in commode left for two days. Open containers of urine in rooms. They can't help everyone to the bathroom so they leave a plastic container for them to urinate in. Call lights going off all day and night. They say, " I don't even hear them anymore." Residents don't get help when they need it. Refuse care to residents' faces. They try to drug patients rather than meet their needs. Food is terrible. Residents complain about it. Some staff don't know what they're doing. Nurses are mostly no more than med techs. They don't assess. The doctor, don't know if he shows up. Seems to miss important medical conditions. Doesn't respond to nurses' requests for med changes; residents stuck on meds because he hasn't changed. Low level of medical attention. Rooms can smell like urine/fecal matter for a long time. They leave residents to wet/poop themselves. Not enough staff. Activities are a joke. No real enrichment. Play bingo off a piece of paper. Sing songs from a sheet of paper. Coloring. Listen to music. There are no enrichment events. Terrible. Residents are bored. They sit around doing nothing. Fall asleep with face on table, or cranked backward over the back of the wheelchair and nothing is done for them. Staff barely provide basic care, there is no relationship or talking to residents. No one watching them. They have episodes, and staff doesn't know because no one is watching. Don't help the needy who need assistance eating. They don't have time. The facility makes a lot of money but they seem to not hire enough staff and keep taking residents. Leave people in bed, do not get them dressed so they can do their PT. Leave exit seekers to escalate, not attending to them. We made several complaints as well as others. It was a bad sign when two weeks into being there, licensing showed up three weeks in a row. And two more times in the next couple of weeks. Not including times we didn't know about. Once licensing leaves, they go back to normal with neglect. While licensing there, they use walkie talkies. When licensing leaves, no walkie talkies. They tell you they can't help, not their patient, go find the assigned caregiver. That one isn't available, but they don't care, not their resident. It is worse here than a low level assisted living community. Yet they're supposed to be providing the best. They should be stripped of their ability to charge for nursing care because they don't provide it.
