Sonja on 13 Jan 2022 :
DO NOT send your loved ones here!!! My father in law left the hospital WALKING up and down the hospital halls with a walker. He was released to this facility to strengthen his legs for his son’s wedding 1.5 weeks later. He received 30 minutes of physical therapy for 2 days and when he asked for assistance to get out of bed to go to the bathroom, the staff told him to just “go in (his) diaper”!?!?! How do you treat someone who is motivated and trying to walk with such disrespect?!?! When we told the physical therapist, he was appalled - as we all were! My father in law ended up catching covid at the facility and no one checked on him until we demanded someone to (not to mention, NO ONE ever answers the phone, it just rings and rings and then disconnects). When they did finally check on him, his SpO2 was at 80% and they said he was lethargic and should be transferred back to the hospital. If we hadn’t called, would he have just died? When was the last time they checked on him before then?? He ended up with pneumonia and covid from this facility. After release, we kept calling to retrieve my father in law’s belongings and they said they didn’t have any ”housekeeping“ to go into the room and collect the items. We called back several times and asked for the administrator and each time they said “he wasn’t in”. We decided to just go to the facility to collect his stuff and after 2 HOURS of waiting while they searched, no one could find ANYTHING of his, not his Bible, his reading glasses, his cell phone or any of his clothes. They were all GONE - stolen. They said they had a storage facility for patient’s belongings but there was absolutely NOTHING of his there. The guy working the desk at the back entrance said “you’d be surprised at how many people just leave their stuff here. We just get rid of it.“ If you have a patient’s belongings, the family should be notified to come pick it up before it is discarded or “taken.” Especially if you have a storage facility/lockers to keep it in AND someone calling to retrieve the items. We are filing a police report for the theft of my father in laws belongings as well as reporting this facility to the NJ Dept of Health for negligence and poor business practices.
