We have been so disgusted with this facility and now they are holding our mother hostage and refusing to release her. The facility is older and not upkept well at all. It is dirty and not cleaned regularly. Rehab for my mother in law has been nonexistent at best. On one occasion, I am positive they gave her the wrong medication. Of course, an internal audit found no wrong doing. But I saw my mother in law with some green foam coming from the mouth, laying in bed with no covers or clothes on and confused about who I was. (full disclosure, she has early stages of dementia, but ALWAYS knows who we are still). The social worker has almost no knowledge for helping the family past their front doors. She absolutely will not help facilitate any services past your stay there. There is one staff member that seems to care about her, but only works so many days and they over work them so much, she can barely get in to see my mother in law on her shifts. The food is not very good and NO customization based on doctors diets. There are basically no activities for the residents. We have asked on more than one occasion to have my mother in law released but they say "she still has days left and they wont release her except under AMA, if we choose to do that". But if we do, they said they will not let us have her medication list and will report us to Medicare for not caring for her. The few days they haven't used are not enough to clinically do any progress for her. DO NOT SEND anyone you remotely care for to this facility. You wont get them back until the money runs out!!!
