Marie on 28 Dec 2022 :
My Brother had had a stroke and could no longer live on his one in 2022. He is doing well at Parkside Senior Living. The staff are attentive and responsive to our family's requests and needs. His room is decent, and we were able to hang curtains and personalize his space. He is safe and has begun to interact more. The staff is friendly and really takes time to interact with him in the hallway when they see him. He receives a calendar with activities like Bingo and parties and they even go out on bus trips for lunches and shopping excursions. The staff routinely pop into his room and ask him how he is doing. When we have medical concerns, the staff contact his doctor, request prescriptions to address his needs then they call us with updates. When the facility had a pipe burst during the December 2022 cold spell, they called to let me know even though it did not directly affect his room. They informed me that the water was off while they handed out bottled water to the residents. They decorate for holidays and the hallways are nice, clean and clear. He enjoys being there at this point. I have to point out that we have a great deal of family interaction by taking him out for at home visits, special meals and goodies and shopping events. You can't just leave a loved one alone in any facility without maintaining ongoing phone calls, outings, video chats and treats in the mail. The only thing that can be improved upon is the food. My brother does not really enjoy all the meals. The food can be improved upon and as such, we supplement his meals with outside treats and home cooking that he can later heat up. His experience at Parkside has been a pleasant experience. I would give Parkside a 5 at this point. I am grateful for the way they care for my brother and their transparency with our family.
